Sustained Investigation Questions
Sustained Investigation Statement
My sustained investigation was “How do cartoons express
emotion, and how can I use pictures to make an exaggeration of feelings?”
The idea of my investigation was to use cartoons to
exaggerate and explore the elements of human emotions. The first project was about the
expressions of fear. For that piece, I wanted to explore different phobias. I
wanted to portray the four characters as their own fears. The second piece was
about anger and being frustrated at one’s self. The image was a figure surrounded
by shadows that represented their inner thoughts. I’m not too proud of the piece,
it’s not my best work. My third piece was a representation of being mentally
tired, the feeling of being pressured and anxiety. So, the picture was of a
figure of a person sweating and looking exhausted, to show how a person would look
when they are mentally drained. The fourth piece is about the feeling of peace
and relaxation. One of my more positive pieces. I used a light pastel-like color scheme with the main focus of a silhouette of a woman meditating in nature.
